Further to the AFP-sourced article published today entitled “Santander to absorb Banesto and Banif banks”, Banif Bank (Malta) plc would like to state that the Banif organisation in Spain quoted in the article is a Spanish bank fully-owned by Santander, and has no connection whatsoever with neither the Portuguese financial Group Banif, SA nor Banif Bank (Malta) plc.
