Accounts Executive

We're seeking to recruit an Accounts Executive to join our Financial and Management Accounting Unit.

Duties and responsibilities

 You will be responsible for:

  • the Bank's cost control, including but not limited to analysis, investigation and reporting of meaningful cost information;
  • ensuring that invoices are paid in a timely manner and with the respective authorisation level required;
  • leading the preparation of the annual budgeting process as well as monitoring of same budget throughout the year;
  • assisting with the reconciliation of supplier statements;
  • assisting in the application of accounting policies and procedures;
  • assisting in the upkeep of various registers forming part of the ERP chain of activities;
  • assisting in the execution of internal controls;
  • assisting in the preparation of feasibility studies; and
  • other ad hoc tasks delegated by the Manager of the Unit.

Competencies and experience

The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.

You must:

  • have a diploma in Banking & Finance or Financial Services and be well-versed with the banking & regulatory industry;
  • have excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills;
  • be highly organized, pro-active self-starter, able to work on own initiative and excellent attention to detail;
  • have the ability to work both independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • be flexible and able to meet strict deadlines;
  • have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • have a minimum of 3 years working experience in a Finance Department;
  • have a working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and International Accounting Standards; and
  • have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
