With a BNF Contactless Credit Card, you can pay for your everyday purchases without the need to carry cheques or cash. Cash advances can be made from any VISA supported network, both locally and abroad.

The BNF Contactless Classic Credit Card is packed with advantageous benefits and features.  To apply for a Classic Credit Card, you need to be at least 18 years of age and enjoy:  

1. Minimum Credit limit

You can benefit from a minimum credit limit of €1,000 on your personal card whilst choosing your own repayment options.

2. Cashback Reward

 Benefit from 0.15% cashback on your monthly in store or online purchases.

3. Interest Free Period

An interest free period of up to 51 days on purchases and cash advances.

4. Free travel insurance  

You are entitled to a complimentary travel insurance that gives you comprehensive protection whilst travelling abroad. The policy covers you for medical and hospital expenses, loss or damage to personal items, travel delays, cancellation of travel and legal liability.

To benefit from this cover, all you need to do is to purchase my travel arrangement using your Classic Credit Card. The travel insurance covers you, your spouse or your partner (if cohabiting for more than 6 months) and your children (up to the age of 18 or 23 if still in full-time education). 5. Free purchase protection insurance 

You can also benefit from a complimentary Purchase Protection Insurance, which provides you with protection against loss, theft or damage for a wide range of personal goods purchased using your BNF Classic Credit Card.

You are automatically covered for 90 days from date of purchase for items purchased with your BNF Classic Credit Card both in Malta, Gozo and abroad. Claims have to be made within 45 days from the date of loss or damage. In order to dispute a transaction, click here to download and complete the Cardholder Transaction Dispute Form. Please visit your nearest BNF Bank Branch to lodge the form together with your supporting documentation.

6. VISA Global Customer Assistance Services

Emergency Assistance for Travellers

No matter where you travel, you can call the VISA Global Customer Assistance Service number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and a customer service representative will be available to assist me. You can call on 001 443 641 2004 for assistance. 

You can lodge a lost or stolen card report, arrange for a replacement Credit Card or emergency cash delivery with your Bank's approval and make any other Visa Card-related inquiry. 

To best assist the customer service representative, it is important that I have this information at hand:

  • name of Bank - BNF Bank p.l.c;
  • Contactless Credit Card type (e.g. VISA Gold, VISA Classic, PAVI PAMA Card);
  • country where the card was issued - Malta;
  • exact cardholder name as printed on the card;
  • billing address - where you receive my monthly Credit Card statement;
  • home phone number;
  • circumstances of the loss or theft;
  • your identification verification information, as provided when you applied for your card (e.g date of birth, mother's maiden name or similar).

If you know the full sixteen (16)-digit credit card number, this information will help reduce the time it takes to cancel your lost or stolen Credit Card. Fees apply for use of this service. Please refer to the BNF Tariff of Charges.

Getting started

To get started, all you need to do is visit a BNF branch and bring with you: 

  • your ID Card;
  • evidence of income;
    • last year's FS3 and the last 3 months' payslips OR 
    • if you're self-employed, my last 3 years' Income Tax return, including Profit and Loss Account; and
  • bank statements of all your accounts held with other banks.

The Bank reserves the right to request further documentation if deemed necessary.

3D Secure

The BNF Contactless Classic Credit Card is 3D Secure. This technology gives you an additional layer of security when shopping online, and further protects against unauthorised and fraudulent card transactions by requiring authentication whenever an eligible purchase is made.  More information, including an FAQ and terms and conditions, are available here.
