A BNF Contactless Gold Credit Card allows you to pay for your purchases securely with a higher credit card limit for further flexibility.  Cash advances can be made from any VISA supported network, both locally and abroad.

The BNF Gold Credit Card offers more benefits and wider coverage that you can take advantage from. To apply from a BNF Contactless Gold Card, you need to be at least 18 years of age and earn a minimum gross annual income of €25,000.  You can benefit from:

1. Standard Credit Limit:         

You can enjoy a standard credit limit of €7,000 whilst choosing your own repayment options. 

2. Cashback Reward: 

Benefit from 0.25% cashback on your monthly in store or online purchases.

3. Free travel insurance:         

You are entitled to a complimentary travel insurance that gives you comprehensive protection while travelling abroad. The policy covers you for medical and hospital expenses, loss or damage to personal items, travel delays, cancellation of travel and legal liability.

To benefit from this cover, all you need to do is to purchase your travel arrangement using your BNF Gold Credit Card. The travel insurance covers you, your spouse or your partner (if cohabiting for more than 6 months), and your children (up to the age of 18 or 23 if still in full-time education). 4. Free purchase protection insurance:

You can also benefit from a complimentary Purchase Protection Insurance which provides you with protection against loss, theft or damage for a wide range of personal goods, purchases using your BNF Gold Credit Card.

You are automatically covered for 90 days from the date of purchase for the item purchased with your BNF Gold Credit Card both in Malta, Gozo and abroad. Claims have to be made within 45 days from the date of loss or damage. In order to dispute a transaction, click here to download and complete the Cardholder Transaction Dispute Form. Please visit your nearest BNF Bank branch to lodge the form together with your supporting documentation.

Your BNF Contactless Gold Card Package provides you with a complimentary Priority Pass membership without having to pay the applicable annual membership fee (currently €99). To avail yourself of all the above facilities, you just need to pay the normal €28 fee per visit.

Emergency Assistance for Travellers

No matter where you travel, you can call the VISA Global Customer Assistance Service number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and a customer service representative will be available to assist you. You can call on 001 443 641 2004 for assistance.

You can lodge a lost or stolen card report, arrange for a replacement Credit Card or emergency case delivery with your Bank's approval and make any other Visa Card-related inquiry.

To best assist the customer service representative, it is important that you have this information at hand:

  • name of your Bank - BNF Bank p.l.c.;
  • Contactless Credit Card type (e.g VISA Classic Card, VISA Gold Card, PAVI PAMA Card);
  • the country where the card was issued - Malta;
  • exact cardholder name as printed on the card;
  • billing address - where you receive your monthly Credit Card statement
  • home phone number;
  • circumstances of the loss or theft;
  • your identification verification information, as provided when you applied for your card (e.g date of birth, mother's maiden name or similar).

If you know the full sixteen (16)-digit credit card number, this information will help reduce the time it takes to cancel your lost or stolen Credit Card. Fees apply for use of this service. Please refer to the BNF Tariff of Charges.

Getting started

Applying for a BNF Contactless Gold Credit Card is simple. All you have to do is visit a BNF branch and take with you:

  • your ID Card;
  • evidence of income; 
    • last year's FS3 and the last 3 months' payslips; or
    • if you're self-employed, your last 3 years' Income Tax return, including Profit and Loss Account; and
  • bank statements of all your accounts held with other banks.

The Bank reserves the right to request further documentation if deemed necessary.

3D Secure

The BNF Contactless Gold Credit Card is 3D Secure. This technology gives you an additional layer of security when shopping online, and further protects against unauthorised and fraudulent card transactions by requiring authentication whenever an eligible purchase is made.
