Branch Manager

We're seeking to recruit a Branch Manager to join our Retail Banking Unit.

Duties and responsibilities


You will be responsible for: 

  • developing the commercial aspect of the Branch whilst ensuring that staff engagement and retention, customer satisfaction and profitability and growth are in line with the Bank's strategy;
  • providing excellent customer service as per Bank's overall standard;
  • achieving and exceeding set targets by proactively planning and organising business related initiatives and activities to attain performance objectives and to increase business volume and profitability;
  • managing the entire portfolio of customers whilst pursuing opportunities for growth from current and prospective clients; 
  • instilling and share a sales culture vision with your team;
  • managing professionally and efficiently the day-to-day operations of the branch;
  • developing team members to their full potential through training, mentoring and support;
  • reviewing the branch's performance on an ongoing basis;
  • ensuring operational soundness, strict adherence to compliance regulations and established rules and procedures; and
  • developing lasting relationships with the various stakeholders in the local community.


Competencies and experience


The potential candidate should have a positive attitude, be well-organised, have a strong aptitude to learn, be meticulous and team-oriented. 

You must: 

  • have a minimum of 7 years' experience within the Banking sector, with at least 3 years' experience at supervisory level in retail banking;
  • have excellent communication skills and customer service approach; 
  • demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese with the ability to communicate effectively using a high level of business English. 
  • possess strong leadership and team management skills; 
  • uphold a professional attitude at all times;
  • be decisive when taking actions based on established policies and procedures; 
  • be highly organised and meticulous in your work;
  • be flexible, highly committed and possess excellent interpersonal skills; and
  • have a degree either in Banking and Finance, Business Management, Economics or in a related field. This will be considered an asset.
