Call Centre Officer

We're seeking to recruit a Call Centre Officer to join our Retail Banking Unit.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • answering customers' queries and providing a high level of customer service via phone, e-mails and messages at all times;
  • using an effective approach to handle telephone tasks like call transfers, taking messages and callbacks;
  • using the most appropriate way to communicate with different behaviour types on the telephone;
  • following-up on customers' written requests and directing customers to the service they require;
  • making outbound calls to existing and prospective customers;
  • accomplishing sales and other targets as required;
  • being able to work independently and displaying time flexibility towards shifts as per work exigencies;
  • assisting customers with the use of the Bank's direct channels including but not limited to the Bank's website and internet banking;
  • liaising with other Units/Departments as required
  • presenting new solutions according to client's needs;
  • using experience to promote and present new ideas
  • handling customer complaints in a professional manner;
  • ensuring compliance with the Bank's guidelines, policies and procedures at all times; and
  • performing other related assignments/projects as requested by Management.

Competencies and experience

The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.

You must:

  • ideally, have a Diploma in Business Studies or equivalent;
  • have knowledge of banking fundamentals;
  • be proficient with MS Office applications particularly Excel. ECDL qualification will be considered as an asset;
  • have strong communication and telephone skills;
  • be Fluent in Maltese, English and ideally Italian; and
  • ideally have previous experience working in a Call Centre which will be considered an asset.
