Assistant Branch Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • assisting the Senior/Branch Manager in the overall management of the branch in a professional and efficient manner;
  • providing excellent customer service as per Bank's overall standard;
  • achieving and exceeding set targets by proactively planning and organising business related initiatives and activities to attain performance objectives and to increase business volume and profitability;
  • managing a portfolio of customers whilst pursuing opportunities for growth from current and prospective clients;
  • contributing to the development of team members to their full potential through training, mentoring and support;
  • ensuring operational soundness, strict adherence to compliance regulations and established rules and procedures; and
  • constantly liaising with Senior/Branch Manager in solving complex problems and to plan and organise his/her own activities and of the employees under his/her supervision.

Competencies & Experience

The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.

You must:

  • demonstrate excellent people management skills;
  • have knowledge of banking Accounting and fundamentals;
  • be proficient with MS Office applications;
  • provide excellent customer service levels;
  • demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese, with the ability to communicate effectively using a high level of business English;
  • be solutions driven;
  • ideally have 2 years' experience as a commercial supervisor or minimum of 5 years banking, ideally having experience at 2 or more branches; and
  • ideally have a degree either in Banking and Finance, Business Management, Economics or in a related field.
