Duties & Responsibilities
At BNF Bank plc, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity. Our Financial Crime Compliance [FCC] department plays a crucial role in protecting the bank and our customers from financial crime risks. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Investigations, Sanctions & Fraud Manager to join our team and lead our efforts in preventing, detecting, and investigating financial crime.
You will be responsible for:
- leading and managing the investigations, sanctions, and fraud teams to ensure timely and effective responses to financial crime threats;
- conducting complex investigations pertinent to financial crime, terrorist financing, fraud or potential bypassing of sanctions;
- ensuring that internal reports escalated from other departments and investigations triggered by FCC are analysed and processed in a timely manner;
- developing and implementing robust policies and procedures to mitigate financial crime risks;
- ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements;
- coordinating with law enforcement and regulatory agencies as necessary;
- providing guidance and training to staff on financial crime prevention;
- preparing and presenting detailed reports on investigations and their outcomes to senior management and regulatory bodies;
- overseeing the implementation of sanctions screening processes and systems;
- representing the Bank on external committees as may be assigned from time to time; and
- leading/Collaborating and working with other team members within FCC or other departments on ad hoc projects which may be assigned by the Head of FCC from time to time.
Competencies & Experience
The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.
You must:
- hold a bachelor's degree in finance, financial crime compliance, criminology, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be considered as an asset;
- have a minimum of five years’ experience in financial crime compliance, investigations, or a related field;
- have proven track record of managing complex investigations and leading teams;
- mentor and coach other team members within the team;
- have strong understanding of AML, CFT and sanctions regulations;
- have proficiency in financial crime investigation techniques and fraud detection technologies;
- have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; and
- have high level of integrity and ethical standards.
