Head of Marketing & Communications Unit

We're seeking to recruit a Head of Marketing and Communications Unit to join our Marketing and Communications Unit.

Duties and responsibilities

The Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for leading all the functions related to marketing, PR, communications, CSR and sponsorship initiatives of the Bank

 You will be responsible for:

  • developing, executing and managing the marketing strategy, brand identity, internal and external communications, and co-ordinating activities that support and strengthen the BNF brand;
  • developing a yearly Integrated Marketing Plan and budget which includes Product and Services Campaigns, CSR, PR and Communications Plan, media presence, digital and social media plan;
  • directing and liaising with the marketing agency for the development of various collateral required for campaigns and communications;
  • developing and managing traditional and digital channels of communication in line with the marketing strategy and plan;
  • developing and managing content for collateral, digital channels, initiatives, press releases, publications, speeches and speaker notes;
  • supporting the commercial drive of the bank, increasing customer value and satisfaction, setting and managing KPIs and assessing performance for effectiveness and continuous improvement;
  • understanding Products and services offered by the bank, analysing related customer behaviour and devising plans and initiatives to promote in line with overall bank's objectives;
  • leading and developing the Bank's marketing team and support the Business Development function;
  • managing the marketing budget while seeing that projects are completed within set costs, timeframes and quality levels;
  • working closely with key internal stakeholders and relevant units within the bank through regular meetings and ensuring a constant flow of 2-way feedback; and
  • developing and improving policies, procedures or guidelines.

Competencies and experience

The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach. The candidate should also demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese, with the ability to communicate effectively using a high level of business English.

Experience in Banking or Financial Services will be considered an asset.  

You must:

  • hold a recognised qualification in Marketing, Management or related area;
  • have experience in Marketing and Communications function with experience in liaising with senior management;
  • be highly motivated, self-driven, dynamic and consistently delivering effective solutions in a fast-paced environment;
  • have excellent verbal, formal written communication and social skills;
  • have excellent planning, organisation and time management abilities;
  • possess a creative mind with fresh and innovative ideas;
  • be flexible and manage priorities whilst remaining calm under pressure;
  • have a positive 'can do' attitude and an ability to take ownership of tasks through to completion;
  • be able to work collaboratively and independently when required;
  • be meticulous with attention to detail;
  • have the ability to prioritise;
  • be a team Player and with networking skills;
  • be an objective oriented individual and commercially minded;
  • have excellent command of formal communications and public relations;
  • be creative with an innovative mindset;
  • have the ability to analyse and interpret data; and
  • be in possession of good working knowledge of MS Excel.
