Junior Analyst

We're seeking to recruit a Junior Analyst to join our Credit Analysis Department.

Duties and responsibilities

The person in this position will be reporting to the Manager, and forming part of a highly experienced Team of Credit Analysts.

The candidate will have access and support from a dynamic, dedicated and technical Team, allowing for a fast-paced development path in relation to credit.  The successful candidate is expected to deliver a sustained high level of service whilst developing and enhancing relationships with internal clients and colleagues.  S/he must work towards achieving the Function's targets.

You will be responsible for:

  • vetting of supporting documentation;
  • due diligence checks;
  • verifying compliance with products' terms and conditions;
  • satisfying  the Bank's tariff of charges;
  • complying with the Bank's credit policies, in particular good principles of lending, rules and procedures;
  • evaluating loan requests, assessing creditworthiness, and making recommendations for approval;
  • handling general administrative work for the function;
  • maintaining of regular statistics to the Bank's management; and
  • all other processes and activities arising from time to time as directed by superiors.

Competencies and experience

The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.

You must:

  • possess a Degree or Diploma Banking and Finance/Accountancy;
  • ideally have the ability to analyse financial statements and interpret financial Ratios;
  • have previous experience in credit;
  • be able to work both independently and within a team;
  • have good analytical skills; and
  • demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills with a solutions driven approach to work.
