Duties and responsibilities
The person in this position will respond to the Credit Analysis Head of Department. The selected candidate will be responsible to perform duties related to (new & existing) credit applications for Retail lending , micro business and SME's.
You will be responsible for:
- vetting supporting documentation;
- crediting related due diligence checks;
- calculating the feasibility and stress testing simulations in line with the Bank's standards;
- ensuring compliance with the Bank's product manual, credit policies and rules and procedures;
- carrying out oversight actions;
- maintaining statistics;
- presenting effective recommendations and proposing solutions;
- identifying areas of development and recommending solutions addressing needs that may arise to improve processes and procedures to consistently increase efficiency and deliver an accurate and timely service throughout;
- assisting the management in non-credit risk tasks as required by service exigencies & other newly arising ad hoc tasks;
- sharing knowledge and developing team members within the function; and
- carrying out all other processes and activities arising from time to time as directed by the Head of Department.
The candidate will be required to ensure a high and sustained level of service whilst developing and enhancing relationships with internal clients. S/he must work towards achieving and exceeding the Department's targets.
Competencies and experience
The potential candidate should have a positive attitude, be well-organised, with a disposition to learn. The selected candidate has to be meticulous with a team-oriented approach to work.
You must:
- hold a degree or Diploma in Banking & Finance/Accountancy;
- be accredited in Home Loan Finance;
- be able to analyse financial reports of micro businesses and SMEs including calculation of ratios using Bank's models, and analysis of profit/loss and main balance sheet items;
- be well conversant with statutory requirements particularly CBM Directive 16, Forbearance concepts amongst others;
- be in possession of well-developed report writing skills; and
- have a minimum 7 years experience in a credit environment.
