Calendar in aid of Dar tal-Providenza

As part of its ongoing contribution towards the local community, Banif Bank has published its second annual calendar portraying works of art by a local artist. This year’s edition includes a collection of water colour paintings by the Maltese artist Joseph Sammut. The paintings were donated to Banif, and in turn the Bank took the opportunity to make a financial contribution towards Id-Dar Tal-Providenza to assist them in their noble cause.

Mr. Joseph Sammut is a well-known artist who studied at the Malta School of Arts under the guidance of some of the most proficient artists in Malta. To date he held four personal exhibitions: ‘Arabia Felx’ at San Anton Palace Attard (Jan 1999), ‘Echoes of Preti’ at the Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta (Dec 1999), ‘Gozo Landscapes’ in Victoria (Jan 2001) and ‘Malta and Gozo – Views and Hues’ at Heritage Malta, Valletta (May 2005). Mr. Sammut is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banif Bank (Malta) plc.

Apart from providing a platform to local artists to exhibit their works of art, this year’s edition of the calendar has helped to provide financial aid to Id-Dar Tal-Providenza, which relies entirely on the generosity of its benefactors and the public donations it receives to fund the very high level of care it provides.

Banif Bank Chairman, Mr. Joseph Sammut donated the funds to Fr Martin Micallef, the Director of the Home for persons with disability in the presence of the CEO of Banif Bank (Malta) plc, Mr. Joaquim F. Silva Pinto.
