Relationship Officer

We're seeking to recruit a Relationship Officer to join our International Banking Unit.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • assisting the Manager in managing a portfolio of existing International Business customers, and ad hoc reqeusts and/or demands;
  • reviewing relationships from a due diligence and AML perspective, by performing a Customer Risk Assessment, and recommend retention or otherwise in line with Bank's appetite;
  • meeting ongoing related requests from other Units / Departments, in particular FCC and Payments Screening;
  • analysing inward and outward payment requests and seeking supporting documentary evidence as necessary;
  • conducting ongoing transaction monitoring to ensure compliance with AML and CFT regulations;
  • raising Suspicious Transaction Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports as and when necessary;
  • assisting in meetings with existing and prospective customers.  Understandably, the majority of these meetings are held remotely; and
  • Processing onboarding requests in line with the Bank's appetite and directions from time to time.

Competencies and experience

The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.

You must:

  • ideally, have a Diploma in Business Studies or equivalent;
  • have knowledge of banking fundamentals;
  • have well-developed written and verbal communication skills;
  • have the ability to multi-task;
  • have the ability to meet deadlines;
  • have the ability to listen actively;
  • have the ability to work on own initiative;
  • have a positive solutions-oriented attitude and problem-solving skills;
  • work well under pressure; and
  • have sound knowledge of MS Office suite.
