
We're seeking to recruit a Senior Sanctions Analyst to join our Financial Crime Compliance Department (FCC).

Duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- keeping abreast with sanctions regulations and relevant updates, which may be issued from time to time at the UN, EU, national level and UK and ensure that screening is carried out against the relevant and most updated sanction lists;
- contributing to the continuous improvement of the existing sanctions risk identification, reporting and remediation systems;
- maintaining policies and procedures pertinent to sanctions and sanctions screening, ensuring they are up to date and assisting the Head of FCC, so that the Bank can meet legal and regulatory expectations;
- driving proactive regulatory engagement on sanctions related matters and in this respect act as the Bank's representative on the Joint Economic and Financial Sanctions Implementation Task Force (JEFSI) and ensuring a continuous relationship with the Sanctions Monitoring Board;
- providing support and guidance, as necessary in handling sanctions related issues and queries;
- ensuring that unusual activity relating to sanctions is escalated and reported accordingly;
- assisting in ensuring that there are effective sanctions and screening systems and processes in place across the Bank;
- carrying out the relevant testing and work on system/s implementation and ongoing enhancement in relation to sanctions screening and monitoring and also collaborating with the other team members within the FCC department in relation to other system testing and/or implementation;
- producing robust and meaningful management information and reports related to sanctions activity;
- supporting the implementation of training programs and gathering feedback to determine whether training addresses department and Bank needs in relation to sanctions. In this regard, supporting and delivering dedicated training in relation to Sanctions and the Financial Crime Modules and contributing to the development of the AML/CFT and Sanctions Compliance Programme; and
- collaborating and working with other team members within the FCC Department on ad hoc projects which may be assigned by the Head of Department from time to time.
Competencies and experience
The potential candidate should be reliable and trustworthy, well-organised with a disposition to learn and have a team-oriented approach.
You must:
- have an MQF Level 5 or higher qualification in financial crime compliance or finance or related subject or an ICA/ACAMs qualification in Sanctions;
- have at least 3 years of professional experience in areas related to sanctions and/or financial crime compliance;
- possess good knowledge and experience in sanctions compliance;
- have the knowledge and experience in AML/CFT regulations, compliance competencies, best practices and activities;
- have experience in designing anti-sanctions control, with a strong focus on automation;
- have experience in the financial services industry, and in particular the banking sector;
- have good communication and writing skills;
- be able to convince others rather than resort to enforcement measures and leading by example; and
- possess knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools and full proficiency in internet searches.
