BNF Cards Transaction Notification SMS Service
The BNF Cards Transaction Notification SMS service gives you the essential rights and transparency on card-based transactions, by receiving prompt ATM withdrawals and EPOS (electronic point of sale) purchase alerts.
The SMS transaction service is free of charge and applicable to all card transactions, whether approved or declined. This means you will receive different SMS notifications, also depending on whether the transaction originated from an EEA country or outside the EEA, and also whether it is affected via EPOS or ATM.
The SMS notification for cross-border card payment transactions in the eleven European (Non-Eurozone) currencies will include additional information as outlined below:
- Converted Amount in EUR (EUR equivalent amount);
- Original Currency (for the 11 EEA Currencies outside the eurozone);
- Conversion Rate (the rate at which Visa converted the amount to euro);
- Indicative % Mark-up (an estimated % fee mark-up of the FX conversion).
A valid mobile number is required in order to take advantage of the free SMS alert.
Customers can opt out of receiving Card SMS Transaction Notifications, by contacting BNF Customer Care Helpdesk on +356 22601000 or by using the Opt Out of Notifications option which will feature under the BNF Internet Banking Secure Message Service Menu.
