I have received my new Mastercard and PIN, what do I do?
Getting Started
Your first transaction must be via any ATM or Chip & PIN at any point-of-sale. This is a security feature to ensure that the card is in your rightful possession. After your first transaction, all BNF cards may be used at any point-of-sale terminals which display the contactless symbol.
If you are using your card at any point-of-sale, tap your card against the contactless reader.
- Wait until the point-of-sale emits an alert (sound or light) to indicate a successful transaction.
- If your transaction is over €50 you will be asked to enter your PIN, if over €150, you will be asked to enter CHIP & PIN.
Added Security
Your BNF Debit or Credit Card is 3D Secure. To enrol your new or re-issued card you need to log on to eBNF Internet Banking or Mobile App, click on Card Management, Select Card and click on Enrol Card. Automatic enrolment applies only to renewed cards. Visit www.bnf.bank/3dsecure2 for more information.
If your card is lost or stolen or if your PIN has been compromised in any way, report it immediately by:
- Clicking on Card Management and then clicking Replace Card /Lock Card from eBNF Internet Banking or Mobile App.
- Non-Internet Banking users – call us on +356 2260 1000.
